Terms of Service
Effective October 27, 2026
These terms cover your use of Waypoints, the online pilot logbook at waypoints.fivebyfivesoftware.com, run by Five By Five Software ("we"). By creating an account or using Waypoints, you agree to them.
Your account
Give us an email address you control and keep your password, or the Google account you sign in with, secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
Your logbook is yours
You own the flights and other information you put into Waypoints. You give us permission to store, process and display it only so we can run Waypoints for you. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.
You're still pilot in command of your records
Waypoints is a tool to help you keep your logbook. It isn't a substitute for your own judgment or for the records the regulations require you to keep. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you log, for checking the totals Waypoints calculates, and for meeting any recordkeeping requirements that apply to you, such as 14 CFR 61.51. Keep your own copy of anything you need to prove your experience or currency.
Acceptable use
Don't use Waypoints to break the law, to get into other people's accounts or data, to interfere with or overload the service, or to scrape or resell it. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
Availability and changes
Waypoints is provided free of charge. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we may change, interrupt or discontinue features, or the service as a whole. If we ever plan to shut Waypoints down, we'll give you notice and a way to get a copy of your logbook first.
Ending your account
You can stop using Waypoints at any time and ask us to delete your account and logbook. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
Disclaimers
Waypoints is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that calculated totals will be correct.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Five By Five Software isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of Waypoints. Because Waypoints is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to $100.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update them here and change the effective date. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email. Continuing to use Waypoints after a change means you accept the new terms.
